About Tukan förlag
Tukan förlag was founded in 2008. The catalogue originally focused on full-colour non-fiction books on popular topics for a broad audience, but as the company grew the range of publications broadened considerably. Today, the Tukan förlag publishing group also includes Bokförlaget Nona and Tukan läromedel, which focuses on teaching materials.
Tukan förlag’s children’s books focus on fabric books, board books, activity and colouring books, picture books, easy-to-read books, non-fiction books for all ages, chapter books and more. Fact books for children, on everything from insects to astronomy, have always formed the core of our catalogue.
Around 2018 we began publishing chapter books for pre-teens (ages 9–12), and today we have several popular series. Tukan förlag has also collaborated with many international publishers and licensors, publishing books about Star Wars, Lego, Disney, Minecraft, Peppa Pig, Bluey and others. We also collaborate with the Swedish national broadcaster, SVT, and publish books based on their children’s series Bolibompa.
Tukan förlag has issued a wide variety of books aimed at adults over the years. Some areas that stand out are food and drink, health, travel and geography, popular science, and art, crafts and hobbies. Tukan collaborates with many major international publishers and Swedish authors.
Tukan förlag and Bokförlaget Nona jointly form the third largest general publishing company in Sweden, and the single largest independent one. The publishing group is based in the Nobis property, a listed building in Gothenburg.
About Bokförlaget Nona
Bokförlaget Nona is a sister company of Tukan förlag, and was founded in 2010. From the beginning, Nona’s portfolio focused on biographies and memoirs – true stories and exciting life stories. About Tukan läromedel
Tukan läromedel was founded in 2018 with a vision to produce textbooks that schools can afford. After being part of the debate about the great lack of resources and textbooks in schools, as well as the educational advantages of physical books over digital teaching materials, publication began with Fundament (‘Foundation’) – a series of social science books for secondary schools. The first four books were released in 2019, and Tukan läromedel has since grown steadily with teaching materials for primary schools as well as teacher’s literature.
